Service Overview

At Tang Shan TCM, we offer a full body Tui Na experience that enhances bodily health, by balancing the Yin and Yang of the body. Tui Na massage originated in China over a couple thousand years ago. It utilises the principles of Qi and other aspects of TCM to better a variety of health conditions, especially pain management, like chronic pain.

We execute it using special massage techniques, where our TCM practitioners uses their palms, fingertips and knuckles to knead, roll, brush, press or rub your body to remove blockages along the meridian (Qi channel) acupoints in order to stimulate Qi and blood flow, promoting balance and healing.

Principles behind TCM Tui Na Massage

Qi

Qi is the universal representation of energy, and is the life force flowing through our bodies that sustains us, balancing our bodies and connecting us with our environment. A disruption to our Qi might lead to a myriad of emotional and physical problems.

When Qi does not flow properly in the body, it can result in blockages that cause poor blood circulation, tension and soreness. As more toxins accumulate, it can eventually lead to illness. Tui Na helps to release the excesses of energy and free the flow of Qi, which relieves tight areas and tension in the body.

Yin and Yang

Originating from Taoist philosophy, Yin and Yang in TCM are manifestations of Qi, and are relatively opposite from each other. They are in constant flux with each other, wherein an imbalance of the two can result in bodily ailments. These imbalances can be categorised as: Excess of Yin, Excess of Yang, Deficiency of Yin, Deficiency of Yang.

Meridians

Meridians are the 12 major channels of the body in which Qi flows through. Tui Na manipulates Qi and balances Yin and Yang by applying pressure onto specific acupoints in our body which correspond to our 12 major meridians.
